when i mess up my computer and feel like im 80

hi people who are probably much better at technology than i am!

today i discovered that while i wanted to follow a bunch of fellow bloggers and link my follow to my own account and blog, i couldn't do so because my personal google account was what i was using to create my blog. now me personally, i don't exactly want my full name on blast on the internet, and i couldn't exactly change my profile picture or display name because i do have to send semi-professional emails in hopes of getting hired as a desperate teenager.

so i of course think to google how to resolve the issue and come to the conclusion that i need to create a new google account that i want to specifically use for blogging.

so boom, i do that, all is well. then i go to open chrome and its like "make a chrome profile with this google account?' and i'm like okay sure whatever so i do it and i don't see that anything has changed. but i think to myself and i'm like, "well i don't want to do all my browsing on this account, so i'll just sign out until i need it."

impossible.

somehow i get down the rabbit hole of making TWO MORE chrome profiles for my other two google accounts (personal and school), which have none of my bookmarks or history saved. i'm thinking it's fine and that i'll just copy over my bookmarks and log into all the things i need. i do that fine but then discover that whenever i go to browse or search with one of the other accounts, chrome fully changes and looks weird. personally i'm not good with change so i'm already irritated.

then i go to log into a platform i need to use to do my schoolwork.

also impossible.

at this point i've given up until further notice or divine intervention and will resort to using a laptop my school provides for the work. if anyone knows how to go back to normal please help a girlblogger out.

  1. hi!!! I also have multiple accounts, and have been through the freak out over it. Basically, desktop will ask if you want another chrome profile, and as you saw, it doesn't have any of your bookmarks and stuff. Don't fret though, it's an easy fix. You can swap between each chrome profile, without needing to sign out. go to the upper mini profile section, it should show your other account you were using. When you swap between these, it will open a new window for that profile. Whereas the base google search home page, in it's upper right section, you can also swap between you accounts, it will open a new tab. it might sometimes say you're signed out of your other accounts, but they're still there for you to access (just do password stuff). I hope this made sense!! <3

  2. Also i was just looking into this a bit, and for some reason google is signing out all of my accounts and defaulting this one for no reason.. So I've opted to just make a chrome profile for this account and only use it for blogging. otherwise if i stay on my main google account, it will log this acc onto blogger, but also wont at the same time? idk it's weird
